We love kids, because Christ Jesus loved us first. We also love our local educators, and kids all over our local community. Loving the people in our local schools is a way we serve our community: encouraging and equipping the local schools.

In collaboration with the local church of Washington and local businesses, New Hope partners to assist in supporting Washington Intermediate (Grades 2-4) through the Hope Bag Project.

Ways to serve

Donate School Supplies

Follow Hope Bag Project for updates over the summer for opportunities to purchase school supplies such as Lysol wipes and crayons for a local student in need to receive at the beginning of the school year.

To give monetarily to the Hope Bag Project for Washington community school supplies for children in need, make check payable to “Daviess County Partnerships” with “Hope Bag Project” in the memo. Mail to Connections PO Box 1014 Washington, IN 47501.

Become an Educator Prayer Partner

Take a prayer card from the church lobby, pray daily over the educator on the card - interceding for them throughout the school year. Contact Erin to have a card mailed to you if you are unable to come in.

Play Partners

Recess is one of the best parts of the day for a student in need of brain breaks. A fresh and welcoming adult who is willing to follow a child’s lead in play can make all of the difference!

Join volunteers on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Washington Intermediate to partner with kids during recess and simply build positive relationships as you play along.

Contact Erin to be connected for Play Partner training and background check information.

Plan an Educator Encouragement

Educators have a lot on their plates, and a little encouragement goes a long way! Have an idea or resources to encourage Intermediate educators? We’re talking carry-in breakfast, coffee cart, notes of encouragement, etc. Reach out and let’s plan something!
